Who Is Jesus Christ-Part 2

December 30, 2013

Who is Jesus Christ? He is the Perfect One, the only One who can satisfy the soul. He is altogether lovely.  He gives everlasting life to those who love Him and believe in Him.

My friend, the birth of Jesus was foretold over 700 years before He was born. The Bible says in Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”

The word Immanuel means “God with us.” This child, promised by God, would be God coming to live with us. The virgin birth of Jesus perfectly expresses how the Son of God came to earth as both God and man.  He was the “Son of God” because God was His Father. He was the “Son of Man” because Mary was His mother.

Why did Jesus come into the world? He came to tell us and to show us what God is like. He told us that God loves sinners. The Bible says in Romans 5:8 - “God shows His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus declared boldly that He was God. He said in John 10:30 - “…I and My Father are one.”

If you go through all of history, you will discover that only one person seriously claimed to be God. That person is Jesus Christ. What did Jesus say of Himself? Here are His very words: John 14:11 “Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me…”

John 14:9 – “…he who has seen Me has seen the Father.”

Who is Jesus Christ? My friend, He is God!
