Our Crucifixion With Christ

December 30, 2014

“Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.” - Romans 6:6

“That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts.” - Ephesians 4:22

Our old man (nature) was crucified with Christ, this is past tense, it is already an established fact for every child of God. You must see this and believe this, and you must choose to think differently. Experientially, the believer is to reckon (to count) it to be so by putting off the old man and putting on the new man. This is talking about putting on the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is a moment-by-moment act of your human will. It is a choice that we all must choose if we are to walk in the Spirit. Today, start by choosing to think differently until you think differently without choosing.
