How Do We Know There Is A God

February 13, 2014

Maybe you have someone in your life that does not believe in God. Maybe, you have had someone ask you to prove that there is a God. You could easily respond to them with, “Prove to me there is no God.” It would be hard for that not to come across sarcastic, so I would not recommend that response because you will lose your witness if you argue with them.

Psalm 19:1 – “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.”

Also, in Romans 1:19-20 – “because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse….”

My friend, we don’t have to out argue someone about the existence of God, God has already won that argument when He made His existence evident within them.

I once heard a story about a lady who worked with a group of Christians in a secular business. She always looked for opportunities to remind them that she did not believe in the existence of God.

One wintry day as they traveled together to a meeting the driver started into a curve too fast for the icy road conditions and started to spin out of control. Everyone braced for impact as they headed down a steep embankment when this lady blurted out “God save us!” The car came to a sudden stop and no one was hurt but everyone was astonished to hear this woman who did not believe in God, call out to God in her moment of crises.

Remember, God’s Word says, “what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.”
