A Clear Salvation
My friend, maybe you are still not sure of your salvation though you read your Bible every day and listen to Christian programming all day long.
One reason people doubt their salvation is because of the circumstances they were in when they first prayed the sinner's prayer. Maybe you went forward with a group of friends and now you wonder what your real motivation was.
A second reason people doubt their salvation is because of the way they were handled by the pastor or counselor. No one opened God’s word and led you to Jesus and helped you pray your first prayer to receive Him as your Savior. Therefore, you are not sure that you are saved.
A third reason people doubt their salvation is because of a besetting sin. That sin that has continued with you even after you prayed to receive Christ.
I have seen cigarette smoking to be the number one besetting sin in the lives of many Christians along with the sin of lust. The guilt that you feel makes you wonder if you are truly saved, but how can I be sure that I am saved?
Pray with me right now.
“Dear Lord, I know that I’m a sinner and I need a Savior. I put all my trust in this fact alone, Jesus died for me personally. I believe that with all of my heart and I am asking you now to come into my heart and save me. Thank you now for saving me. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.”
My friend, if you were sincere as you prayed along with me, you can know that you are truly saved. But what do I do when I sin as a Christian. The same thing Billy Graham has always done. In prayer, confess the sin and repent of it leaving it nailed to the cross where Jesus died with it.
