God’s Ultimate Goal

July 22, 2013

“Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness----by whose stripes you were healed.” - 1 Peter 2:24

God’s ultimate goal for all of us is to conform us to the image of His son Jesus Christ.  How does He do this? Think of yourself as a lump of clay on a potter’s wheel. Think of God being the potter, spinning the wheel, dipping His hands in love, putting His hands to you and with love conforming you to the image of His Son.

When everything is going well, we almost always start to drift from God but when things start falling apart, we come back to Him like a magnet. As God spins the wheel around, He touches you even when it hurts but at the same time it is making you beautiful. God uses the things that we go through in life to conform us into the image of Jesus.

Commit your ways to the Lord and keep leaning on the Spirit.
