A Rest For Your Soul-Part 3

May 21, 2014

Job 7:20– “I have sinned, what have I done to you, oh watcher of men.  Why have you set your target on me?  So that I am a burden to myself.”

Do you want to have peace in your soul? Then you must first have peace with God before you can have the peace of God. Peace with God is when you look at the cross and you see the blood of Christ, shed as your substitute for that initial burden that we all feel. Then the peace of God is when the spirit of God invades your humanity and sets up residence, sets as umpire over your soul and gives you peace. My friend, this is the rest of salvation. If you are a child of God and you do not have peace, then there must be the rest of surrender. This is the rest from the burden of “self.” The burden of sin and the burden of self are parts of the same burden; which is indwelling sin. The trouble you are struggling with is not Satan and his demons, what you are struggling with is “yourself” … the three-musketeers…me, myself, and I.
