At Peace

October 22, 2013

All of us, when we were children had a childlike peace. But, as we grow older, our lives become more complicated. We think of making a living and we worry about our debts, or our jobs, or taking care of ourselves in our old age. We bother ourselves about the world’s situations. We get crossed up with other people, we become upset thinking about our health, we want to improve our social position and the list goes on and on.

To be peaceful my friend, you must first be at peace with the One Who created you, the God of the Bible. When you look at the cross my friend, and put your trust where God has put your sin on Jesus who died there for you, and ask Him to come into your heart, you are saved. You now have peace with God.

There is another peace, and that is the peace of God that comes from the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. You receive Him when you are saved, and He is Mr. Peace. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace….

Now, you might be thinking, “If this is all true why do I fret so?”

My friend, it’s because you want to be in control.  A person who is a controller is a person who is extremely insecure. They are the kind of people who have ulcers and give ulcers to others. But you say, “I know that I am a Christian. What must I do to enjoy this childlike peace?”

Surrender my friend, to the Holy Spirit who lives in you, because “Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world,” and you will begin to walk in that peace that passes all comprehension.
