God’s Character – Part 3

October 4, 2013

“You in Your mercy have led forth The people whom You have redeemed; You have guided them in Your strength To Your holy habitation.”  - Exodus 15:13

My friend, we could spend our days in religious service and fill our devotions with fervor and still be miserable. Nothing can set our hearts at rest but intimacy with God.

If you were planning to take a dangerous trip across the ocean your first concern would be the kind of Captain guiding you through stormy waters. Common sense would tell you if the Captain were untrustworthy, no amount of trustworthiness on your part would make you feel safe and make your trip safe.

It would be the character of your Captain, and not your own that would be of utmost importance to you. My friend, God is your Captain in this life and the life to come. Your guide is trustworthy. The Bible tells us so.
