God’s Character – Part 5

October 8, 2013

“Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,” - Acts 17:30

My friend, it is our ignorance of God that causes so many problems in each of our lives. Because we do not spend time with Him, getting to know Him intimately, we naturally get all sorts of wrong ideas about Him. We think He is an angry judge who sits in heaven on a throne just hoping we do something wrong so He can pour out His wrath on us. We imagine Him as a self-absorbed Deity, demanding His full measure of honor and glory or as a far-off Sovereign, concerned only with His own affairs and indifferent to our welfare. Listen!  We think God is this way because man is that way. My friend, God is love and not like man in most every way.
