Read: Psalm 90

Key Verse: “May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us-yes, establish the work of our hands.” - Psalm 90:17

This is the only psalm that is written by Moses. He is highlighting that God is a refuge and the dwelling place for every generation. From everlasting to everlasting, God remains the same. God is in time and above time. One thousand years are like one day to God. He is patient when we are impatient.

Our life on earth is short but filled with purpose.

Moses has the wisdom to ask for God’s help and favor. One touch from God can open doors of opportunity and success. At the same time, Moses also twice mentions the work of our hands. God is pleased with a strong work ethic amongst His people. The combination in this psalm is faithfulness in our efforts and the humility to plead with God for His help. Both aspects are important. Some people are lazy in their work, while others are lazy in prayer. Moses learned how to work and, at the same time, ask for God’s gracious favor in completing His good assignments.
