Are You Good Enough? Tuesday, April 18th 2017
"knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law; for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified."
How good is good enough? That is a question many people ask when they think about Heaven. Each religious system has it's own level of "goodness" by which their followers strive to live. Christianity is the exception.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can't take credit for this; it is a gift of God.
Grace. That word changes everything. It's not a religious system or a book of morals that saves us, it is the grace of God applied to our life by faith in Jesus Christ. Jesus lived the perfect life, died a sacrificial death and rose victoriously so that we could be saved by His grace. Now, when we trust in Jesus for salvation, we are justified. No longer are we under the threat of punishment for our sins, but instead we are forgiven because our sins have been erased. Think of it this way:
Justification = Just as if I never did it.
Life Lesson: Justification only comes through what Jesus did on the cross.
Thank you for the glorious grace given to me through Jesus. I know that I am not saved by works, but I desire to use my works to glorify You because of all You have done for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
