The Waiting Game - Tuesday, October 30th 2012
1 Corinthians 11:26
"For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes."
Have you ever had to wait in line for something you love? Maybe you waited to ride a roller-coaster at your favorite theme park or sat in line to be the first at a movie. You may even be someone who loves to get up at 2am so you can sit outside the store right before a big sale. Whatever the case, we all have experienced anticipation for something we love. You can even say that, as Christians, we are all living lives of expectation as we wait for the coming of our Lord.
Romans 8:18 "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us." NKJV
Just imagine, all the sufferings of this world including the pain, sickness and death that are all around us will one day be gone. While we wait here on earth and endure the hardships of a fallen world, Jesus Christ prepares our new home and will one day return to take us there. This is not fantasy or a mad man's dream. These are the very Truths of God and they can be trusted. So no matter how long this line of earth may seem, continue to look up and be reminded that one day He is coming.
Life Lesson: We should always be thinking of and looking forward to the coming of our Lord.
Thank You for Your love and the hope I can have in Jesus. Forgive me of my sins and make me new. Fill me with Your Spirit so that I can share the hope of heaven with everyone I meet. Use me today to change someone's eternity. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
