Biblical Modesty in Light of God's Holiness

Today will you ponder with me what its like to come into the presence of God? Through the inspired eyes of the Scripture writers, look upon our Awesome and Majestic Lord Almighty. Enter into the Throne Room of the Universe and see the Majesty on High, The Almighty, The Ancient of Days in all of His glory. And then with reverent hearts, bow before Him and worship Him as He is. Listen to the Holy Scriptures as they focus in upon HIM:

“Out of the north he comes in golden splendor; God comes in awesome majesty.” (Job 37:22 NIV)

“…and the Ancient of Days took his seat. His clothing was as white as snow. His throne was flaming with fire, and its wheels were all ablaze. A river of fire was flowing, coming out from before him. Thousands upon thousands attended him; ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him.” (Daniel 7:9-10  NIV)

“…His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead.” (Revelation 1:13-17 NIV)

“…  Under his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself.” (Exodus 24:9-10 NIV)

“…And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. Before the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits of God. Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.  Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being."” (Revelation 4:1-11 NIV)

The Lord further revealed His expectations for how His people were to come before Him.  But they did not listen and soon became hopelessly entwined with the world He called them out of.
