Watching Over You | Psalm 121:5-8
Psalm 121:5-8 The LORD watches over you—the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
The world is a shaky place to live in. Recently it was learned that the Chinese infiltrated a top U.S. weapons system. The Attorney General of the U.S. possibly misled Congress, one of three scandals going on in the U.S. Wars continue around the world. A fire broke out on a cruise ship, cutting short the vacation of 2,200 passengers. The most shocking news of all - the Pittsburgh Pirates are on their way to a winning season!
Uncertainty is the only certainty. Things change in our lives from day to day. Tests, treatments and surgeries are on this week’s schedule for many reading this. Others have jobs that are on the brink. Too many marriages are hanging together with one last thin thread of commitment. However, there is one certainty in this uncertain world.
The unchanging God watches over you. He never sleeps, protecting you day and night. He leaves with you in the morning, comes home with you at night and watches over you throughout the day. God is certain. He will hold you steady when your world seems like it’s falling apart.
Father, help us to hold on to you when the certain storm delivers uncertainty in our lives. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
