Be Strong - Forward with Back to the Bible - June 5

  • 2020 Jun 05

Do you have a fixer in your life? My husband, because he loves me, he wants to fix my problems. He’s by nature a fixer. When I’m scared about something, he wants to fix it, so I’m not afraid.

However, most times, I don’t need him to fix my problems. I need Him to love me and to point me back to the one who is our ultimate protector.

Isaiah 35:4 says, “Say to those who have an anxious heart, ‘Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.’”

That verse reminds me of two things: First, sometimes, we don’t need the fix. We just need an encouraging word. What’s that encouraging Word? God’s Word.

The second thing it reminds me of is that God is there for me. He’s there for you. No matter what problem you're facing. No matter what fear you’re experiencing, Be strong and fear not! God is there!

Whatever it is you’re facing today, I’m sorry. I know it is hard and can be overwhelming but be encouraged. God loves you. He cares for you. He is and always will be there for you.

Text in Context: Read Isaiah 35

Reflect: What does this passage teach you about God? What does this passage teach you about God’s people?

Respond: How does this passage strengthen your view of God? How does this passage change how you view your circumstances?

Prayer: Father, you are my deliverer and protector. I do not need to fear. Thank you for watching over me. Amen.
