Don’t React. Instead, Act. - Forward with Back to the Bible - July 10

Don’t React. Instead, Act.

Text in Context: Read Proverbs 14:29-30 “Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.”

Reflect: Why is peaceful living hard? Why is it difficult to choose patience and understanding over anger? What does the writer say is the cost of quick anger and jealousy?

Respond: How are you losing the battle of anger and jealousy? How can you display understanding and patience?

PrayerFather, thank you for being slow to anger and lavish in your loving-kindness. Help me to be slow to become anger and jealous. Instead, help me to show others patience and grace. Amen.
