Limitless Love | Psalm 103:17

Psalm 103:17 But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children.

“Love”, says A. W. Tozer, “is an essential attribute of God.” Tozer explains that all of God’s attributes are always at work together. One is never held back in order to emphasize another. Let’s think about what that means for us.

God is self-existent, so his love has no beginning. There has never been a time when God wasn’t existent, so his love has always been present. It is from everlasting.

God is eternal, so his love has no end. There will never be a time when God ceases to exist, so his love will always be there. It is from everlasting to everlasting.

God is infinite, so his love has no limits. There will never be a time when God quits loving us. His love has no stopping point.

God is holy, so his love is pure. On our best day, man’s love is tainted by our sinfulness. By contrast, God’s love and his motives are completely pure. God’s love for us is perfect.

I don’t know what you are going through today, but I know this - God loves you! He loves you with an everlasting love. God loves you! He loves you with a limitless love. He will never stop loving you. God loves you! His motivation in loving you is pure. He paid a great price to redeem you from sin’s slavery. You are accepted. You are secure. You are significant. You are a child of the living God all because of his great love.

Father, thank you for your eternal, limitless, pure love. Help me to respond with a life of thanksgiving and honor demonstrated by obedience in all the areas of my life. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
