The Journey with Ron Moore

Hello, My Name is ... God | Job 40:1-2

Job 40:1-2 The LORD said to Job: "Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let him who accuses God answer him!"

Job…quite a man…quite a journey. Can you even begin to imagine what this guy went through? His wealth, children, and health…gone…just like that. His so-called friends were more a hindrance than a help. Even his wife told him to “curse God and die!” But Job hung on…sometimes just barely.

Even when you are a person of integrity and committed to do things God’s way, life can knock the props out from under you. In the difficult times, even the strongest believer will question. But most of the time God responds, not with an answer, but with a reminder of who he is. He is El Shaddai—the Almighty. Nothing is impossible with him. Nothing is hidden from his view. He never needs corrected because his ways are always perfect.

I received some news today that I really didn’t want to hear. Nothing Job-like, but disappointing none the less. “God, are you sure you know what you’re doing on this one? This just doesn’t make a bit of sense to me!” As often is the case, I needed to hear this truth—God never needs to be corrected because his ways are always perfect. So, today, I am doing my best to wrap my heart and mind around that truth.

Father, help me and all those reading this who are wondering…okay, questioning…what you are doing in their lives. Help us to accept the truth presented in our passage today—your ways are always perfect. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
