We Are Christ’s Servants
Read Colossians 3:23-24
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
Do you work heartily, as for the Lord?
The Bible instructs us to serve Jesus with all our heart, regardless of the size of the assignment or whether it goes unnoticed.
So, the countless meals you’ve dished up during church potlucks and the endless hours you’ve spent volunteering in the nursery are every bit as important to God as the big, public ministry activities—especially if they’re done for Christ’s glory.
As we faithfully and consistently serve the Lord, our attitude becomes more and more like His. “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:3-4).
Who are you serving for Christ’s sake? You are His hands and feet; you speak His words and show His face to those in your care. Are you working with all your heart—for His glory?
Lord, I want to do Your work. I want to serve in Your name and to work heartily, as for the Lord. Amen.
