Why do you want to do this alone?
Pastor Mark Jeske
Life is hard. The law of entropy says that everything is in a state of breaking down. You may assume that everything positive you try to do will encounter resistance; you may equally assume that trouble is going to come and find you. Here’s the question: Is it your plan to tackle everything all by yourself? Are you open to letting God into your game plan?
Does that sound like a dumb question? Maybe, but even believers have to figure it out one person at a time. Are you going to hold onto your troubles and hide them? Why do you want to do this alone?
King Asa knew he had to change the culture of his realm. The priesthood was weak and the Word of God was not being taught. Violence was everywhere—it was so bad that the Bible says it was not safe to travel about. “The Spirit of God came on Azariah son of Oded.He went out to meet Asa and said to him, ‘Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lordis with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you’ ”(2 Chronicles 15:1,2). Asa listened to that great advice and sparked a nationwide spiritual renewal. The Bible tells how the people did seek God eagerly and he was found by them.
God doesn’t play hide-and-go-seek. He wants to be found.
