Thank you, teachers!
Online banking sites have a host of personal questions to verify who you are: mother’s maiden name, high school mascot, first pet. They pick the tidbits of your life that you’ll never forget. It’s not surprising that “favorite teacher” always makes the list, because we all have that one teacher who immediately comes to mind. The one who encouraged you, challenged you, loved you, and disciplined you.
Whether in public school, private school, or home school, it’s always good to take the time to say thank you to the ones who choose to spend their time, energy, money, and lives on teaching the next generation.
For the teachers who see their career choice as a way to not only teach the three Rs but to also show the Father’s love, today is a great day to say, “We always thank God for all of you and continually mention you in our prayers. We remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ”(1 Thessalonians 1:2,3).
For those educators who don’t know Jesus yet, there is no better way to show your appreciation for them than tointroduce them to the Teacher. Through your love, grace, and words, share with them the good news that “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Proverbs 9:10).
Thank you, teachers! We appreciate all you do!
