Hands-on Faith for Families – week of April 6, 2020

Theme: Keep Our Eyes on God

Not by Bread Alone

Scripture: Jesus Answered, “It is written: ‘Man does not live on bread alone, but on very word that comes from the mouth of God.’” (Matthew 4:4)

Play: Take turns thinking up the yummiest bread and the craziest fixings for a super sandwich. Consider interesting sandwich combinations such as banana bread, whipped cream and chocolate chips.

Talk: We all like eating special foods to keep our bodies healthy. But that alone won’t help us grow and become the people God wants us to be. Matthew 4:4 says that we also need the spiritual food of God’s Word, the Bible. It nourishes and strengthens our spirits, helping us to become mature followers of Christ. What has the Bible taught you that has helped you understand God better?

Pray: Ask God to help you search His Word often and rely on it for your daily growth.
