The world marveled at the incredible rise of the online company, Groupon. The founder, Andrew Mason, started a unique coupon business and grew it to over $1 billion in the first two years.
But with this unbridled growth came many problems. Today, Andrew Mason is no longer CEO of the company he founded. The uncontrollable growth, and the related problems, ultimately cost him his job.
In Deuteronomy 7, Moses warned the Israelites about overnight success, “The Lordyour God will drive out those nations before you, little by little. You will not be allowed to eliminate them all at once, or the wild animals will multiply around you.”
Rapid, unbridled growth can lead to “wild animals” devouring all that you have created. Controlled rapid growth is a better long term strategy.
