Short-Term Sacrifice

One of the most challenging ethical dilemmas many business leaders face is when “making the right decision costs money.” Making a monetary sacrifice in order to uphold your values requires a long-term commitment to what pleases God even though it can be painful in the short-term.
As we celebrate Good Friday it might help us to recall the incredible short-term sacrifice Jesus made on the cross for our long-term gain. His sacrifice was far greater than any short-term cost you or I might have to pay.
Jesus said in Matthew 10:38, “Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me.”
The next time you’re faced with a tough ethical decision remember the cross you are carrying is small compared to what Jesus carried.
