Pray and Wait

Nehemiah, who became Governor of Jerusalem about 445 BC, was a driven and focused leader. Yet, he also realized his desperate need for wisdom and direction from God.
One thing about Nehemiah that stands out is his willingness to pray and wait on God. Many driven leaders would have caught the vision for rebuilding Jerusalem and would have dove into action immediately.
In Nehemiah 1 we read, “When I heard these words, I sat down and wept and mourned for days; and I was fasting and praying before the God of heaven.”
It was four months before God gave Nehemiah the opening he was praying for. His pray-and-wait approach brought amazing results.
Pray, listen, and wait worked well for Nehemiah. Maybe, it could help you as well.
