Lead by Example
In an article by Forbes magazine about leadership, Williams Craig says, “Leaders have a responsibility to demonstrate the beliefs of the company and reinforce behaviors that reflect those values.”
Leadership is not just about giving directives, it is about exemplifying transferable character and behavior.
King Jehoshaphat was a leader who demonstrated faith in God not only in word but in action. 2 Chronicles 20:18 says, “Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord.”
King Jehoshaphat lead Judah by example. He wanted his kingdom to revere God. The kingdom followed his lead when he chose to align his priorities with God’s. The kingdom submitted to God’s authority because Jehoshaphat first lead by his humbled example.
