Equipped for Work

According to Baylor University’s “National Survey of Work, Entrepreneurship and Religion,” churches should take notice of the importance of emphasizing the integration of faith and work. The survey revealed that full-time workers who regularly attend a congregation that highlights faith at work, experience higher job satisfaction and job commitment.
According to surveys, very few churches spend much time teaching their members to apply scripture in a relevant way to their workplace issues. This can send a subtle message that work doesn’t matter to God, other than to produce tithes and offerings.
Colossians 3:23 teaches, “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.”
As we approach Labor Day, encourage your pastor to equip you for the 45% or more of your waking hours spent at work.
