The Best Interview Questions
By: Rick Boxx
August 4, 2015

Our daughter, Megan, as a recent graduate, has been interviewing for Occupational Therapist positions. At one interview she was asked to share about a past ethical challenge along with how she handled the issue.

Megan told me, “I hated that question! I couldn’t think of a specific instance to share.” Although this question stumped my daughter, it was a wise question.

One of the best ways to determine how well someone will address the future is to ask about their past. Even those who are cautious will often reveal much about their character with their stories.

Proverbs 15:28 teaches, “The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.”

Asking open-ended questions about an applicant’s past just might reveal their true character and uncover the best applicant.
