A Bigger Dose of Excellence
By: Rick Boxx
February 6, 2015

The root word for integrity means “wholeness” or “completeness.” As I see it, excellence is a subset of integrity.

If you lack integrity, it undermines trust and ultimately sales. If, on the other hand, you lack excellence, your reputation will also be sullied leaving others to perceive your integrity as lacking as well.

To have a great reputation you need to strive for excellence. We will not be perfect, but we can strive to perform at the highest of levels.

Ecclesiastes 10:10 teaches, “If the ax is dull and its edge unsharpened, more strength is needed but skill will bring success.”

Pause today and ask yourself what areas of your organization need a bigger dose of excellence. Then develop an improvement plan for those areas, and then take action.
