A Family Picnic
June 17, 2011
By: Rick Boxx

Recently, Case Dorman, the CEO of JackStack Barbeque, took a bold step. He decided to close all of their restaurants for an entire day to have a picnic for all staff and their families. Case made the comment, “We’ve focused for years on the customer. We felt we needed a day for our staff and their families to know how much we cared for them as well.”

A business needs to view their employees as family. 1 Timothy 5:8 teaches, “If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.”

I applaud JackStack for caring for their staff. I know at least one waiter, who served us recently, who is very grateful.
