Starting Lean

Sometimes a well thought out plan can still fail, especially in our fast-paced, changing world. Eric Ries, author of “The Lean Startup,” developed an extensive plan for his first business. He raised capital, executed the plan, and then rolled out the business, only to discover the customer wasn’t interested!

This led Eric to take a different approach that he calls the “Lean Startup.” Eric now contends that it’s much wiser to develop a scaled-down concept with just the core offerings, and then test the concept to determine if the customer even cares about the service or items offered.

Proverbs 20:18 teaches, “Prepare plans by consultation, and make war by wise guidance.”

Part of seeking counsel is discovering what your customer actually wants. Getting their input sooner rather than later is always wise.
