War Lessons

My wife, Kathy, loves studying the Vietnam War. One lesson I’ve learned from her is that some leaders in battle were shot in the back by their own men while trying to take a hill covered with enemies.

Some soldiers didn’t understand the war, didn’t want to be there, and were not willing to fight a senseless battle. This made it critical that commanders knew their troops well, communicated their mission clearly and demonstrated some degree of compassion.

Jesus showed confidence in his own leadership in John 10:27 when he said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

If you desire to have your team follow you, rather than “shoot you in the back,” make sure they know you and that you know them.
