Is Your Hobby Your Calling
By: Rick Boxx
November 14, 2013

According to Barna Group research, 66% of Christians do not feel “called” to their current occupation. For some people their hobby may be their calling.

Mike was an insurance adjuster who built homes as a hobby. He loved managing the project and working with subcontractors. Before long, he was building dozens of homes a year, until finally, he realized building homes was what he was called to do full time!

God desires us to enjoy our work, but some assume our work has to be drudgery, so they never consider their hobby.

God spoke about the future of work in heaven in Isaiah 65:22. He said, “My chosen ones will long enjoy the work of their hands.”

If you’re searching for your calling vocationally, don’t overlook your hobbies.
