Columbus' Passion
By: Rick Boxx
September 14, 2013

Christopher Columbus was passionate about his dream. He had a desire to find a new and quicker route to the Orient, but he needed financial backing.

In 1485, Columbus pitched his idea to the King of Portugal. His plan was rejected, but Columbus persevered.

For the next seven years, he approached multiple nations and potential backers, persistently and passionately pursuing funding for his dream. These leaders, however, believed his plans were flawed and refused to help.

Finally, in 1492, due to Columbus’ years of perseverance, Ferdinand and Isabella, King and Queen of Spain, relented and agreed to finance Columbus’ venture.

James 1:4 teaches, “Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

If you have a God given dream persevere with passion.
