Iron Sharpening Iron
By: Rick Boxx
October 19, 2012

After speaking at an event someone approached me to share some thoughts. This gentleman informed me that he was a professional speaker, and then went on to say he had taken pages of notes and really enjoyed my presentation.

As we parted he said, “Rick, there were some here today that most likely were not Christians. You brought up a subject that few Christians fully understand, let alone nonbelievers. You might make note of that for next time.”

This person’s desire to help me achieve excellence in my speaking made it easier to receive his constructive criticism.

Proverbs 27:17 teaches, “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.”

When delivering criticism to others in your workplace remember to sincerely desire them to excel, then you will be iron sharpening iron.
