Pastor Appreciation Month
By: Rick Boxx
October 9, 2012
For years, I’ve heard many pastors kidded about only working one day a week. But, after spending years on the board of a citywide prayer movement that consists primarily of pastors, I’ve grown to admire pastors and their long tiring schedule.
These Saints not only have to prepare each week for their sermon, but they also are responsible for shepherding a flock of many hurting people. In addition, many are trying to run the business affairs of a church, even though most have been untrained for that role.
1 Timothy 5:17 teaches, “The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.”
Take a moment this month and join me in encouraging your pastor, with double honor.
