Listen and Learn

According to Cindy Olson, the former EVP of Human Resources for Enron, she received an employee survey prior to the fall of Enron, that revealed one very important deficiency, and a warning of what was to come.
According to the survey, employees did not feel they could surface concerns or dissent without backlash. This is a critical piece of information for any organization.
Many times management claims they want to hear from their staff, but some are threatened by concerns or dissensions, and therefore, do all they can to squelch any dissent.
Proverbs 12:15 teaches, “The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.”
Leaders who desire to build great organizations, need to listen and welcome all advice, even when it hurts.
