Respecting Religious Rights
Forbes magazine posted an article called “Religion in the Workplace: What Managers Need to Know.” The author noted that religious discrimination claims have increased 50% over the last 15 years.
Since many business schools have labeled religion as a taboo subject many managers have little in practical guidance on how best to navigate this growing area of conflict. The overarching conclusion of the author-centered on “respect.”
Lawsuits often happen when someone’s religious views are disrespected.
Romans 13:7 teaches, “Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.”
If we learn to take serious someone else’s religious beliefs and show respect as someone made in God’s image, there will likely be fewer legal disputes.
