think about it.
Chapter 19 ended with the Battle of Armageddon; what happens immediately afterwards (19:20; 20:1-6)? What happens at the end of the thousand years (20:7-10)? What do you look forward to seeing in this stage of the future?
Have you ever heard someone say that people are really good at heart or that people truly want to do good? Maybe you've even thought or said that at some point yourself. Well, Revelation 20:1-10 shows us just the opposite. Here we are in the 1000 year Millennium. Jesus is reigning and Satan has been bound and thrown into the bottomless pit. As a result, he is not roaming the earth spreading deception and inciting sin. This will be a good society, full of peace but it won't be perfect or sinless. Then we get to verses 7-10, the really telling verses. Satan is released and right away he is able to deceive the nations and gather people together to battle Christ once again--and don't miss this--"their number is like the sand of the sea" (vs. 8).
So what does this passage tell us about our need to, first and foremost, stay in tune with God and follow His commands? And secondly, about our need to be on the offensive when it comes to Satan and his deceptive ways? Tami W.
