Deuteronomy 4:32-40   "For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and ask from one end of heaven to the other, whether such a great thing as this has ever happened or was ever heard of...

Moses (in detail) reminds the Israelites that God is God and that He is in control of everything...including the Israelites. He then gives them this command. "'Know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other'" (Deut. 4:39). I find this verse quite powerful. It leaves no doubt in my mind about God's greatness and power and that He is most certainly in control of everything around me as well as every aspect of my life.
