No If, Thens

today's reading.
Revelation 10  Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, with a rainbow over his head, and his face was like the sun, and his legs like pillars of fire...

the blog.
We covered more than normal in our reading today so thanks for taking a little extra time to read it all. I was drawn to Chapter 11 and the two witnesses. These two people and what's happening around them have always intrigued me. There is just so much to consider--symbolism, details, things yet to come.

So there I was, taking in all these things about the two witnesses and it dawned on me that what we're being shown here is a magnificent display of God's absolute control and authority over all. Think about it. We don't see any "if this happens, then...." in these verses. Just the opposite, we see specific times, events, happenings. Even the death of the two witnesses happens on God's timetable and as part of His plan. It's not that Satan finally overcomes and is able to kill them. The witnesses are martyred only when God allows it.

So what do these two chapters of Revelation, and particularly chapter 11, show us about God's power, control, standards, His plan? How can we use what we see in these verses when it comes to trusting God with the details or our life? Tami W.
