No Escape

today's reading.
Jonah 1:1-6  Now the word of the Lord came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying, "Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and call out against it, for their evil has come up before me"...

the blog.
Every time I read the Book of Jonah, I find myself thinking How ridiculous of you, Jonah. But then I come to my senses and realize that I've been there. I've acted the same way as Jonah (just didn't use a ship), thinking I could run away from God and that I could basically ignore Him. Like He did with Jonah, God got my attention through some difficult circumstances. It wasn't pleasant at the time, but it was necessary to bring me back to Him. And as I write today, I am thankful.

So have you ever tried to hide or run from God? Why? And what did you learn as a result? Tami
