Today's reading: 1 Peter 5:1-5
In 1 Peter 5, Peter provides instruction on relationships and interacting and functioning within the body of Christ--first for leaders, then to those being led and lastly to the entire group.
For those in a leadership role, Peter highlights the importance of having a willing and caring attitude and a serving heart. The charge for those not in leadership is to submit or be subject to the spiritual leaders who are over them. But Peter then concludes with the all-inclusive charge for every Christ follower to clothe themselves with humility toward one another (vs. 5). Good and wise instruction for a healthy and properly functioning body of believers.
How would you describe being "clothed in humility" and why it's important to someone? Does a particular person come to mind when you think of this phrase, and why? Do you think this phrase describes you? Tami
