Thinking about Honor

Today's reading: Proverbs 15:33

The book of Proverbs has a number of verses that address having honor, so for the next several days, we'll be thinking about what Proverbs (and perhaps some additional passages) tell, instruct and show us about honor. Being honorable (respected and held in high regard because of our upright character and actions) is pleasing to God, and living honorably is a goal we should be intentional about pursuing.

"The fear of the LORD is instruction in wisdom, and humility comes before honor." (Proverbs 15:33)

What does this verse convey about the importance of putting God first and valuing others? How would you explain the relationship between being humble and having honor? Tami
