The Deep Things of God

But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. - 1 Corinthians 2:10-11

Paul spoke about the revelation, inspiration and illumination of the Scriptures, as we read the Word of God. Paul knew he had divine power behind his preaching. When he opened his mouth, it was the Holy Spirit speaking through him. It was supernatural and divine, whereas men’s wisdom in this world is natural; it is not of God. We know the deep things of God such as redemption and atonement.

If you attend a literature class with a non-believing professor who is not Spirit filled, you will read the Bible as if you are studying Plato or Socrates. There will be absolutely no effect in your life. Yet, when Ryan opened the Bible and read for six hours in Panama, the Word of God was beginning to take effect in his heart and mind, in order to get him to where he is today.

I really believe the Word of God was so effective in his life that it was better than rehab! As Ryan made his confession of Christ, immediately there began a transformation. God did not work in a spectacular way––there was no lightening––but in the Lord’s own way, a silent way, He was working in Ryan’s heart.

God still moves in our hearts that way; even when we sleep He works. He is working out all the issues in our lives that He wants to change. Through the Holy Spirit, the Lord has revealed to those who love Him, the deep things of God. After the Lord has spoken to you, He will continue to mold and shape your life. Then you will speak with authority and boldness in the name of Christ. As you do that, the Word of God will never come back void.

So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplishwhat I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
~Isaiah 55:11~
