We have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
The last words of this verse are important: We have been made holy by the sacrifice of Jesus, the Messiah, “once for all.” One time . . . for everyone. God’s involvement in our lives is not arbitrary. Jesus paid the ultimate price that we might be justified before Almighty God. The redemptive work of Jesus is complete, entire, and irrevocable. There is nothing we can do to add to it or detract from it. Through His death on the cross and His resurrection, Jesus defeated every spirit, every principality and power, every dark and demonic thing that stands opposed to the will of God. There is still trouble in the world because His kingdom is not fully come. And it’s through His Church, you and me, that His victory is being demonstrated in these days.
Heavenly Father, thank You for being involved in my life. Thank You that through the death and resurrection of Jesus, the power of sin has been defeated in my life and I have been made holy and free. May my life demonstrate Your mighty power to save. In the name of Jesus, the Savior of the world, amen.
