'Born Alive Infants Protection Act'

The House of Representatives recently passed the "Born Alive Infants Protection Act." The measure would protect aborted babies who survive. The fact that we even need this kind of legislation is an indication of how far we have sunk as a people. The measure was even supported by some pro-choice democrats.

Among other things, it would infuse the baby with personhood and the legal status of "individual" and "child," language is important and this bill is loaded with good things. Don’t look for the Senate to pass it, though, where the pro-abortion lobby holds a lot of power. Opponents say anything designed to protect human life is a back door attempt to overturn Roe v. Wade. The pro-abortion lobby is so adament that all abortions be unrestricted it even opposes protecting born babies who survive the procedure.

I thought pro-lifers were supposed to be extremists. There is nothing more extreme than a position like this, but it shows you what can happen when the protection of one category of life is removed. All categories of life then become potential targets. I’m Cal Thomas in Washington.
