Catholic Church Scandal Has Message for All
Catholic bishops are meeting in Dallas this week amid a growing scandal in their church. The Dallas Morning News reports about two-thirds of the top American Catholic leadership, including all eight U.S. cardinals, are part of a cover-up that protected priests accused of sexual misconduct. Read it for yourself at the Dallas Morning News website.

Repeatedly in scripture we are warned not to lightly regard sin in our hearts, and that we can be sure our sins will find us out.

Too many Christians have lightly regarded sin, often dismissing it and refusing church discipline for those who commit it. In the Old Testament, God was tough on sin and sinners. That's why Jesus paid the ultimate price for sin. It is so serious, he gave his life in order that our sin might be obliterated.

Whether one is Catholic or not, the scandal in the Catholic Church has a message for all of us ... If we will receive it. I'm Cal Thomas in Washington.
