Happy Easter, He is Risen!

Easter often becomes more about eggs and bunny rabbits than about Jesus Christ. Thanks to a recent movie, the real meaning of Easter is being realized.

Happy Easter, He is Risen!

Thanks to the Mel Gibson movie, "The Passion of the Christ" America is focusing on the real meaning of Easter in ways it may not have focused in many years.

Culture so often tends to obscure the meaning of Christmas and Easter and so many other things we hold sacred.

This week, Jesus made the cover of Time Magazine with a question "why did he have to die?" It takes a while to find the answer in Time, but it's there among the scholars and theologians.

The answer of course is that he came to die...for us...so that we might live with him. He took on our sin for our redemption and nailed it to a cross. Then he overcame sin and death by rising from the grave.

This is Easter. Not bunny rabbits, or eggs, or jellybeans, or marshmallow chickens, but Jesus the Christ, the son of the living God.

If you haven't seen the movie, "go and see." If you haven't seen the original, "come and see." Happy Easter, he is risen!
