Palestinian State? Yassir!

What was Senator Joseph Lieberman doing in Israel last week?

Among other things, he visited Yassir Arafat and endorsed the idea of a so-called Palestinian state.

I can’t get out of my mind the picture of a Jew standing next to one of history’s greatest Jewish exterminators.

How could Lieberman, who takes his Jewish faith seriously and observed the Jewish Sabbath, stand with Yassir Arafat and endorse a Palestinian state when he must surely know that Israel’s enemies will use that state as a launching pad for their final assault on Israel?

Arafat has said frequently that his goal is to take all of Israel, either all at once, or piece-by-piece. He proves it by his terrorist actions over more than 30 years.

Lieberman is going to run for president and needs to portray himself as a statesman and knowledgeable about world affairs. But this is too much.

He could have gone to the region and even met with Arafat. But endorsing a Palestinian state with his heritage? Unbelievable.
